Stigma can:
🔹 Drive people to hide the illness to avoid discrimination
🔹 Prevent people from seeking health care immediately
🔹 Discourage them from adopting healthy behaviours
We all need to be intentional and thoughtful when communicating on social media and other platforms, showing supportive behaviors around coronavirus. less

To improve the management of hypertension, the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) with the Jordanian Ministry of Health have just started implementing the project "Adaptation, Implementation, and Evaluation of HEARTS Technical Package in Health Care Settings in North of Jordan to Improve the Management of Hypertension" which is a two-years project funded by LINKS, a global community for cardiovascular health. The proposed program will be implemented in 20 health care centers that deliver primary health care services including facilities for NCDs.
The HEARTS technical package will standardize the treatment protocol to control hypertension which will positively impact the quality of clinical care and variability. Additionally, this implementation research project will contribute in strengthening the collaboration efforts with the ministry of health to reach SDG3, “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages,” through knowledge synthesis. Below are pictures from the Baseline Assessment of the facilities that will be included in the project, that is currently being conducted by the Health Protection and Promotion Team in EMPHNET. less
